Mind Movie Creation With Apple’s Keynote

[ad_1]

You’ve probably heard of The Secret by now, the ubiquitous Law of Attraction made famous by Rhonda Byrne. Oprah also had a program where well-known people talked about the Vision Board and what The Secret has meant to them.

The Vision Board is a visualization tool where you post images of the things you want in your life and the way you picture your life to be. For instance, if you want a specific car, find a picture of that image, attach it to your Vision Board, and have the board where you can see it every day. You want these images in your consciousness to encourage focus on the things you find important to you.

To take this one step further, you can create a Mind Movie to combine images, text and audio to make a more powerful instrument for changing your life. The Mind Movie Creation Kit, created by Ryan Higgins, gives you images and other tools for a reasonable price. However, if you have Keynote on your Apple computer, you can easily make a Mind Movie for your personal use.

In Keynote, find a Theme that appeals to you. I chose one that’s light-colored rather than one of the dark gray themes. Add a new slide by clicking on the “+” icon in the top left-hand corner of the window. You can change the layout of the slide by selecting the Masters icon and selecting the layout that you want. Add a picture or two and some text to the slide. I found images by searching Google images as well as using personal photos of my family and friends. You can also use royalty-free stock photography sites for inexpensive images. You want to choose images that move you rather than using the first image that comes up in your search. Always be sure that you are not violating the image’s copyright laws.

The text you add should be in the present tense, as if your life already includes all of the things you want. Use sentences like, “Money flows effortlessly to me,” or, “I receive unexpected income,” rather than, “I am out of debt.” The word “debt” has a negative connotation, and you want to banish as much negativity as you can from your life. You also want to include text about the things you are grateful for and the positive things you will do with money if you had an abundance of it. Contain smiling images of your family and friends and images of the people you will help with your money. For instance, you can make a slide of your family and friends that reads, “I am surrounded by family and friends,” and a slide of cancer survivors with the text, “I give back to others.”

When you have finished adding your slides, add transitions by opening the Inspector, choosing Slide Inspector, choosing the Effect and adjusting the Duration, if necessary, changing Start Transition to Automatically, and adjusting the Delay. When you have done this to every slide, add music to your movie by clicking on the Document Inspector icon. Choose Audio, select the MP3 from your iTunes Library, and select the number of times you want the song to repeat, if at all.

You can now view the completed movie in Keynote by clicking the Play icon in the top left-hand corner of the window. You can also view the movie by selecting Share in the main menu, then Export, and then selecting the type of file you would like to export. You can make a file playable on your iPod if you want to always have your movie on hand.
